There is greatness in you. God is going to bring it out of you!
Bethlehem had greatness in its past. It was the place where Jacob had buried his wife Rachel. It was also the home of Ruth. It was the birthplace of King David. Perhaps this little place meaning ‘house of bread’ at the time of the prophecy was no longer producing anything of provision or significance. Perhaps its name was something of an embarrassment as there was now no sign of blessing upon it, in it, or from it. It seems that it had become a place of insignificance as it is described as little among the thousands of Judah. Yet, God saw that there was greatness still to come from it!
So, to the person who feels a little bit ‘stuck’ right now in life, let the significance of Bethlehem impact you to know and believe that there is still greatness to be brought forth from you. God sees it and believes it. It is time for you to see and believe the same. Your life is not going to fade into insignificance. Ask God to speak to you as He spoke to Bethlehem. Ask for those words to be heard in your heart and let their truth establish you again with hope and joy.
