“Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favour with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name JESUS.””
Luke 1:30-31 NKJV
Fear and favour!
The antidote to Mary’s fear was the realisation that she had found favour with God. There be many things in life that can cause us to fear and cause us to live a restricted life. How are we to handle this fear? How can it be conquered and how can we move forward with confidence? Fear can put our lives into lockdown. It is the place of the closed door. If Mary had remained in the place of fear she would not have embraced all that God had for her and her life would have been less enriched.
Obtaining an understanding of the favour of God upon your life as a child of the King is a good place to start conquering fear. Favour causes doors to open. “So Joseph found favour in his sight, and served him. Then he made him overseer of his house, and all that he had he put under his authority” (Gen 39:4). Favour releases us into opportunity and enrichment of life. Whatever God is asking of you, don’t be afraid to do it. His favour is upon you.
