Even if

Do you ever question God's ability? I know that in hard trials I sometimes do. Sometimes we can feel like our problems are too big for God or that we aren't good enough for God to do certain things within our lives. But I just want to tell you that God is able, even if he doesn't do certain things within our lives, he is still able.

There is a worship song that I love called ‘Even If’ - the lyrics talk about God being ABLE to do all things but that sometimes God chooses to leave certain situations alone in which case we need to continue to put our faith in God.

The chorus goes like this :

I know you're able and I know you can save through the fire with your mighty hand, but even if you don't, my hope is you alone. I know the sorrow and I know the hurt would all go away if you just say the word, but even if you don't, my hope is you alone.

I love the part that says ‘ even if you don’t, my hope is you alone.’

I will admit that sometimes it’s hard to believe that God is able - especially when you are going through difficult trials but God always seems to amaze me at how able he is. Saying that - the prayers I pray aren't always answered in the way I think, hope or time that they would be but Psalm 50:15 tells you to call for help when you’re in trouble, God will help you, and you’ll honour him. God doesn't always help us in the way we imagine BUT he always helps us.

If you look back throughout your different trials, I'm sure you would agree with me.

There is a lesson in every trial we go through so if God doesn't do something that you have been praying for, know there is a reason. Ecclesiastes 3:1 says ‘ for everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven’ - don't be discouraged if you feel like your prayers aren't being answered, keep praying, keep believing, submit to him and trust that it's all in God’s perfect timing because God is ABLE.
